Tinting of the eyebrows and eyelashes is a quick, temporary dyeing of hairs in a selected area. Depending on how you take care of the hair after treatment, it can last anywhere from a week to a month.
Almost everyone is a candidate for tinting. Clients with light hair notice the most dramatic results, but anyone who is unhappy with the color of their natural hair can correct this with tinting.
The day of your first appointment, the esthetician will sit down and find out exactly what results you would like to achieve with this procedure. She will then mix the dye solution to your desired look and place it in the area being treated. The solution sits anywhere from three to twenty minutes depending on your desired outcome.
Keep in mind that hair tinting is not the permanent dying of the hair. You cannot fill in patches of missing hair with this treatment.
Please do not apply eyebrow liner or mascara on the day of your procedure. The more bare the hair, the better the dye can bind.
Let your provider know if you have any history of allergies or sensitivities to products.
Before your treatment, make sure to clean any makeup off the area you would like treated. The dye will set best on a completely clean surface.
Before your procedure, the areas to be treated will be gently cleansed. You will be brought to a private room, where you can get comfortable.
Protective eye covers will be placed over your eyelids during the procedure.
After the procedure, you can resume normal activities. Be gentle to the areas that were treated and avoid using cleansers with exfoliating agents, as these can remove the dye. We will give you in-depth aftercare instructions at your appointment.
Clients often report that eyebrow and lash tinting does not feel like anything. Many clients fall asleep as the dye is setting. There is always the chance the dye could get into your eye, which can cause mild discomfort. If this does occur, eye drops are applied immediately to relieve the pain.
Be gentle to the area that was treated. Make sure your cleansers have no exfoliating properties because these can eat away at the dye. We will give you in-depth aftercare instructions at your appointment and are available to answer any questions as needed.
