Ultherapy PRIME builds on the proven science of traditional Ultherapy, both of which use microfocused ultrasound energy to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production and lift, tone, and tighten the skin without surgery.

The key difference lies in the technology platform. Ultherapy PRIME features enhanced real-time ultrasound imaging with higher resolution, allowing providers to visualize skin layers more clearly and deliver energy with greater precision. This improved imaging helps optimize treatment planning and accuracy at different tissue depths.

In addition, Ultherapy PRIME introduces a more advanced and efficient system design, allowing for a smoother workflow and faster treatment delivery compared to the original Ultherapy platform. While both treatments rely on the same clinically proven ultrasound technology and produce comparable lifting and tightening results, PRIME is designed to improve precision, comfort, and overall treatment efficiency.

After cleansing the skin and identifying the specific areas to be treated, an ultrasound gel is applied and a smooth handpiece is placed on the skin. Focused ultrasound energy bypasses the surface of the skin and is delivered to pre-planned depths within the tissue to stimulate collagen production.

Comfort levels vary from patient to patient and can depend on the area treated. Your provider will discuss options to make the experience as comfortable as possible. The sensation is associated with the focused ultrasound energy being delivered below the skin’s surface. It is temporary and typically felt only during energy delivery, with most patients leaving the treatment feeling comfortable and optimistic about upcoming results.

You may experience redness, mild swelling, bruising, numbness, tingling, or tenderness following your treatment. You may notice an immediate feeling of tightness. Results will continue to improve over the next three to six months as new collagen is produced. Most patients can return to normal activities immediately after treatment.

Patients have noted that there can be some discomfort while the ultrasound energy is being delivered during an Ultherapy PRIME treatment, but this is temporary and often considered a sign that the collagen-building process has been activated.
